The Arbours Crisis Centre offers a real alternative to hospitalisation both for those experiencing emotional crisis for the first time as well as for those with a history of severe emotional distress. It uses psychotherapy alongside other therapeutic techniques to support people through the crisis and beyond. All placements at the centre are voluntary and “guests” need to be willing to participate in the therapeutic work of the community.
Barnet Asian Women’s Association
Barnet Asian Women's Association is a group of women who meet regularly and organise social, cultural and educational activities.
They offer services including support to elderly members, advice and counselling, a free legal service, advocacy and support groups for mental health and domestiic violence and home visits and outreach.

Barnet Carers Centre
Barnet Carers Centre was established in February 1996 as part of the network of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. The Centre offers advice,information, emotional and practical support for all informal carers who live or work in the London Borough of Barnet.
The Chinese Mental Health Association
Carer's Support Project
This project aimed to improve the quality of life of the Chinese family carers for people with mental health issues. Through a health promotion programme between February and June 2011, the project was to strengthen the carers' understanding of their role, and the services and support that are available to them.
The project developed a Chinese Carer's Guide which documented a wide range of information, including early intervention, symptoms and treatments of mental illnesses, build up a therapeutic building with the cared for person, carer's rights, and the carer's health & wellbeing.
A series of 13 leaflets were also produced which cover different topics such as 'How to look after someone with Schizophrenia', 'Carer's Assessments, Services & Support' etc. in Chinese.
Apart from the written resources, a series of carer's workshops run by Chinese mental health professionals have taken place in different community centres in London.

Leading mental health charity that provides a wealth of information for service users and carers. Rethink offers carers support groups- the nearest one is in Edgware, Middlesex.
The Network is a new, modernised service which replaces the traditional day centre services that were provided by the Community Network.
The Network is a specialist team of Mental Health Professionals who provide support to people with a mental health problem living in Barnet who have been assessed as needing this service. The service aims to increase people's independence and help people to feel a part of their local community. The Network and offers the opportunity for people to develop a personalized recovery plan, skills in daily living (such as budgeting and running a home) and short courses on how to deal with some of the psychological barriers that may stop people realizing their potential.
RF provides an integrated Service consisting of employment advice and support, in-house and external work placements, basic skills training, pre-employment skills training and day opportunities for people with a wide range of mental health problems.
